SBC Pastors’ Conference “Prepares for Rain”

“We desperately need a fresh encounter with the Father” says Dr. Michael Catt, President of the SBC Pastor’s Conference for 2008. The pastor of the creative Sherwood Baptist Church, challenges pastors at this year’s Annual Southern Baptist Convention to prepare for revival through renewed commitments to evangelism and prayer.
"The key to the church in Acts was prayer. That is not often the case in the 21st century church." The SBC Pastors' Conference website has led pastors in their preparation for the conference with a daily PrayerJourney - each day giving a key verse and prayer focus to focus on. Dr. Catt also emphasizes the need for personal brokenness among pastors. "Only when God breaks us can He remake us into His image." Instead of breakout sessions, Catt emphasized the need to hear from men of God about the brokenness in their own lives.

This year, host Sherwood Baptist Church will be leading in praise and worship during the event in addition to the "Voices of Mobile" from the University of Mobile.
