On Tuesday, September 30, Dr. Leith Anderson, President of the National Association of Evangelicals and Pastor of Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, will speak at this year's Mission: Moving Mountains (M:MM) Fall Celebration Banquet, held at the Airport Holiday Inn in Bloomington, Minn.

Anderson, who is a member of The Navigators' board of directors, plans to speak on the theme "Loving our neighbor in a global community," For over 29 years, the Navigators have had tremendous success ministering to those living in extreme spiritual and physical poverty in Africa.

The Moving Mountains ministry works with partner agencies in Africa and Asia, imparting the heart of a loving God and His kingdom principles. These principles address not only spiritual growth but also developmental progress in social settings of debilitating diseases and health issues, poor sanitation, and economic plight.

Anderson plans to challenge banquet attendees to focus on what it really means to love our neighbors, particularly our Muslim ones, around the world. "Jesus called us to love God and love our neighbors," says Anderson. "That is the way Christians please God and change the world. That is exactly what M:MM is doing in Africa."

Hundreds of Twin Cities supporters are expected to attend; the state of Minnesota served as the mission agency's headquarters for 29 years before moving to Colorado Springs.

"This banquet is one of many ways to stay connected to our Minnesota friends, faithful ministry partners and Navigators' supporters," says Joe Fry, Discipling for Development associate director.

Organizers say funds raised from this event will support M:MM's Discipling for Development ministries internationally. To register for the banquet, log onto www.movingmountains.org.
